The Restaurant
at the pig-in the south downs

Our food – best enjoyed shared!
Our walled garden is steeped in history with old Espalier apple trees, vines and an orchard made up of mature pears, apples and cherry trees. We have three large polytunnels that grow a wide variety of sweet peppers, tomatoes, salad leaves and herbs. There's even a nuttery, smoke house and a mushroom house - all cared for by our Kitchen Gardener team.
With the coast within casting distance and the rolling chalky South Downs hills all around us, we are lucky enough to have some brilliant farmers, growers and fisherman right on our doorstep!
Tuck into our 25 mile menu at the restaurant in the heart of the house, or enjoy some outdoor eating on the terrace, with far-reaching views overlooking our very own southwest-facing vineyard.

Breakfast
Kickstart your day, THE PIG way, with a hearty hot breakfast or a help-yourself grazing table packed with homegrown treats. The best part? You don’t have to be staying with us to dig in.
Whether it’s a working breakfast, a weekend catch-up, or a quiet coffee and a Hoxton bakery pastry, we’ll be dishing up from 7.30am - the coffee is brewing, the eggs are fresh from our hens, and the best seat in the house is waiting for you.

Lunching
Light bite or long lunch? You choose. We’ll keep the plates coming - from garden-picked salads to the classic comfort dishes. Perfect for those “just popping in” pit-stops or afternoons that stretch happily into a second bottle. Gather your gang or sneak a solo plate in peace - either way, lunch is made to be easy.
We also have a tasty lunchtime set menu - always 2 courses, always £28.50 - available Monday-Friday.

Dinner
Our suppers start early, so you can slip in before sunset or make a whole night of it. Cosy up for a dinner à deux or go for a big table for a rollicking, laughter-loud feast of sharing plates. Either way, the night is young and the wine’s already breathing (and Sussex is THE place to try some of the best English wine around!)

Drinks & Nibbles
Not ready for a full feast? Our bar is always open for a glass of something homegrown, local, or just plain delicious. Pair it with a few Piggy Bits to share and settle into a cosy corner or a sun-soaked seat on our vineyard-view lawns outside. Perfect for post-work wind-downs, weekend tipples, or a midweek treat - no booking needed, just wander in.

Our Ever-Changing Midweek Set Menu
Every month, our chefs tear into the new season with fresh ideas and bold dishes they can’t wait to plate up. Seasonal, just-picked ingredients and simple flavour combinations that make the most of what’s growing now.
2-Course Midweek Set Menu for £28.50

Our local heroes
Behind every plate at THE PIG is a cast of brilliant farmers, growers, fishermen, cheesemakers, bakers and butchers - the lifeblood of our 25 mile menus. These are the people who bring us just-laid eggs, just-picked berries, south coast caught fish, and hyper local specialities like dairy from the first organically fed dairy farm in the country, Goodwood, and award winning English wines like Sugrue South Downs - all with care, skill and stories to tell. We visit them, talk to them, trust them - and couldn’t do what we do without them.

What to expect
