We've always loved gathering friends across every PIG to share stories, wine, food – and being in the company of people who inspire us.

That’s why we couldn’t be more excited to throw open our doors and warmly welcome you inside for an intimate supper with bestselling author, broadcaster and How to Fail podcast host Elizabeth Day, ahead of the launch of her hotly anticipated new novel, One of Us

Join us for a cosy conversation, filled with Elizabeth’s much-loved honesty and humour, where you’ll hear the reasons why her upcoming novel was, as she says, “the most fun I’ve ever had writing a book.” We’ll delve into the plot (don’t worry, no spoilers!), what inspired her to write this sequel to her 2017 bestselling novel, The Party, how she works out her characters and whether there really is such a thing as writer's block.

THE PIG's own publicist, Emma Cripwell, will be putting all questions to Elizabeth – and of course, there’ll be time for you to ask your own questions too, making for what will undoubtedly be a fabulous evening.

On the night, you’ll be able to buy a copy of One of Us (so you can get your hands on the book before anyone else!) and have it signed by Elizabeth.

Like all the best suppers with friends, you can look forward to a perfectly chilled drink as soon as you arrive. We’ll have a freshly poured Dirty Vodka Martini (Elizabeth’s favourite tipple!) ready for sipping, ahead of a three-course PIG supper, including Piggy Bits – and wines to pair perfectly with every course, including Elizabeth's favourite wine, Pinot Noir, New World.

We can’t wait to have you round for what promises to be an unmissable, delicious and fun-filled evening!

When & Where?

Tuesday 16th September 2025, THE PIG-in the South Downs

What time?

The perfectly chilled Dirty Vodka Martinis will be ready for sipping from 6.30pm on the terrace at THE PIG-in the South Downs, with views out to our very own vineyard. You’ll have a chance to buy a copy of One of Us and have it signed by Elizabeth herself, and at 7pm we’ll officially kick off the evening.

Your night will start, THE PIG way, with a glass of English fizz and sharing Piggy Bits, as the vibrant conversation begins, ahead of the three-course feast.

This dinner is a relaxed, sociable supper with sharing tables – if you’ve booked with friends, just give us a shout so we can make sure you’re all sitting together. Everything will be prepped ahead of your arrival, right down to the name cards on the tables!

How much?

£120 per person, which includes a three-course PIG supper, plus Piggy Bits, a Dirty Vodka Martini and perfectly paired wines. The wine will be generously poured, so we suggest you order a taxi… or better still, stay the night so you can really make the most of the evening!

Please note, this is an adults-only event so you must be 18+ to buy a ticket.
