Book NowAt THE PIG, we’ve always championed simple, fresh and honest ingredients growing right on our doorstep – it’s our way of life. Creating rustic, hyper-local recipes that celebrate the seasons and use everything up is what we love, with the help of the very best farmers, fishermen and foragers we know.
Late spring is when elderflower bursts into bloom, bringing with it the unmistakable taste of British summer. And we can’t think of a better (or more PIG!) way to celebrate the new season than by inviting you round to ours at THE PIG-near Bath for a hands-on foraging adventure, workshop and lunch, led by our friend and wild food forager, Tom Radford.
Step into the the Kitchen Garden...
You’ll arrive at 9.30am to a welcome hot drink and pastries in The Old Dining room, before setting off on a private Kitchen Garden tour with our Kitchen Gardeners. You’ll see what’s growing and what’s in season, with the chance to pick fresh toppings for your lunch along the way.
Once you’ve had a nosey at our veg beds and polytunnels, Tom Radford will lead you out on a foraging walk through the surrounding countryside, keeping an eye out for plenty of elderflower to use in your workshop later. Along the way, Tom will share practical tips you can take home and use in your own kitchen.

Afterwards, you’ll return to the hotel for a relaxed, hands-on workshop, where you’ll learn how to make your very own Elderflower Fizz – the perfect spring-to-summer refreshing tipple.
From there, you’ll pull up a chair in the Old Dining Room, sitting around one big table with your fellow foragers to tuck into a two-course sharing lunch, with generous pours of PIG Cut wine. Sit back, relax, and soak up the atmosphere before the day wraps up around 3pm.
