An autumnal venison feast with THE PIG-near Bath & Good Food

Join us to celebrate the best of the season with a four-course venison lunch, special speakers and perfectly paired wine! 

£120 per person

At THE PIG-near Bath, the gardeners and chefs work hand-in-hand to create menus full of the freshest, seasonal flavours homegrown in their Kitchen Garden and reared on their doorstep.

Join us at their country house, tucked into the folds of the Mendip Hills, for a four-course, locally sourced (we’re talking 30 minutes away!) venison lunch, paired with specially selected wines hand-picked by THE PIG sommeliers.

Throughout the afternoon, you’ll hear from THE PIG’s Group Head Kitchen Gardener, Ollie Hutson, who has been heading up THE PIG’s Kitchen Gardens since day one. Together, with THE PIG’s Group Head Chef Andy Wright, they will share insider stories into what THE PIG are all about, and how (and why) they are deeply committed to homegrown produce and working with local suppliers to create their seasonal 25 mile menu.

You’ll also get to hear from THE PIG-near Bath’s wild game supplier, Matt Roberts, who’s produce has inspired the autumnal feast, as well as winemaker and owner of Castlewood Vineyard, Rob Corbett – a long-standing friend of THE PIG, whose English sparkling wine you’ll always find in PIG restaurants and bars. 

On the menu

Join us for comforting, hearty platefuls of PIG autumnal dishes that you won’t find anywhere else on THE PIG-near Bath’s menu, paired with perfectly chilled wines chosen by THE PIG’s wine team.

Relax over a wholesome starter of Crispy Crown Prince Pumpkin with Sunflower Butter & White Lake Goats’ Cheese, followed by a seasonal main of Braised Hunstrete Venison Shoulder with Creamy Polenta, Pickled Fennel and English Pecorino. Round it all off with a classic PIG pudding of Spiced Poached Quince with Yoghurt Sorbet & Caramelised Almonds, with a selection of locally sourced Somerset cheese and crackers.

Each course will be perfectly paired with a generous glass of wine, including THE PIG’s very own THE PIG Cut Red

The first glass will be poured at 12.30pm to warmly welcome you in with a friendly introduction from your hosts at Good Food. Lunch will be served at 12.45pm.
