At THE PIG, we have always championed simple, fresh and honest ingredients growing right on our doorstep – it’s our way of life! Creating rustic, hyper-local recipes that celebrate the seasons and use everything up is what we love, with the help of the best farmers, fishermen and foragers we know.
We can’t think of a better (or more PIG!) way to celebrate the new season than by inviting you round to ours for a hands-on foraging adventure, workshop, and lunch at our New Forest home, with our friend and wild food forager, Tom Radford!

Arrive at THE PIG in the New Forest to a welcome hot drink and pastry, before taking a wander around the Kitchen Garden to see what’s currently growing in our veg beds and polytunnels. You’ll then head out with Tom for a stomp around the grounds of our PIG, where you’ll forage for edible plants, herbs, and seasonal treats, plus get plenty of tips as you walk from Tom to take home and use in your own kitchen!
You’ll then roll up your sleeves for a relaxed, hands-on workshop guided by Tom, learning how to make your very own Nettle Beer (using the foraged goodies you found on your walk!). Once you’ve worked up an appetite from your workshop, we’ll dish up sharing plates of wood-fired pizzas, piled high with seasonal pickings, served alongside a generous pour of PIG Cut Wine or a Pentire non-alcoholic cocktail.
