A little bit higgledy-piggledy and the smallest in our litter, THE PIG-in the wall is tucked within the old medieval walls of this south coast city centre, just 90 minutes from London.
We do things a little differently...
At THE PIG-in the wall, we are all about relaxed deli-dining, rather than the full PIG restaurant experience – but you can expect the same cosy comforts you know and love, from rustic wooden tables and chairs, low sofa seating, a roaring log burner and plenty of comfy corners in our open plan lounge. Being nestled in historic Southampton, our little city-centre bolthole is yours to enjoy as a characterful base for making the most of the south coast and our surroundings.
The deli-bar
We don’t have a Kitchen Garden on site, but we’re still just as committed to local, homegrown produce. Daily deliveries from THE PIG in the New Forest (just 20 minutes away) and nearby Hampshire, Dorset and Isle of Wight suppliers keep menus changing, with deli salads, pies, quiches, Piggy Bits, sharing boards and sweet treats.
Fresh pours
Our Deli-bar is the heart of the house – so our drinks list at THE PIG-in the wall is slightly smaller than our regular bar menus, but packed with much-loved, classic tipples for whenever you fancy a little “PIG me up” from a Negroni and a Margarita to an Espresso Martini. Our city spot also means we’re spoilt for choice for high-quality, locally produced cold craft ales and ciders, spirits and liqueurs.
Outdoor nibbles & tipples
Drop in and make yourself comfy on our outdoor terrace, nestled at the front of our home in the wall. Tuck in to fresh, homecooked plates of Piggy Bits, perfect for grazing over with great company – or simply sit back in the sunshine with a glass of something chilled.

With nearby, ancient streets to explore, easy access to the Isle of Wight ferry, and some of the best shopping in the south, there’s plenty to do while staying at our cosy city-centre hotel.
THE PIG in the New Forest is just a 20-minute drive away and situated in the most bucolic of settings – a lovely old stone house in the leafy countryside outside Brockenhurst, alongside its abundant walled Kitchen Garden.
Surrounded by Hampshire countryside and coast, with the New Forest National Park nearby, ancient streets to explore, easy access to the Isle of Wight ferry and some of the best shopping in the south, there’s plenty to do while staying at our cosy city-centre hotel.
Our urban PIGlet is the perfect base for immersing yourself in the city’s bustling high-streets or to make an easy escape to the country. Jump on a train or hop in the car to THE PIG in the New Forest and grab a map from the team for a gentle wander into Brockenhurst village, or a deeper ramble into the forest.
