Neatly tucked away within the ancient medieval walls of Southampton, it's the perfect base for immersing yourself in the city's bustling high-streets, colourful nightlife and long and illustrious history!

Step out from THE PIG-in the wall and you’re straight into Southampton’s old town, with medieval walls and centuries of seafaring history.
The city buzzes with galleries, theatres and music venues, while the harbour is alive with ferries, yachts and cruise ships. From shopping centres to waterside walks, everything is within easy reach!

Southampton has plenty to browse, from the high-street names and big brands of Westquay to independent shops tucked into the old town.
Whether it’s fashion, homeware (yes, we have an Ikea!) or a quick retail fix before dinner, everything’s just a short stroll from THE PIG-in the wall.

Southampton’s theatre scene is alive and well, with the Mayflower Theatre bringing West End shows to the city.

Frequently asked questions
The availability shown online for THE PIG-in the wall is live and always up-to-date. If you can’t find the date you’re after, please email reservations@thepighotel.com so we can add you to our waiting list.
However, it’s worth checking out our other properties as we may have rooms or tables available elsewhere.
Children are welcome at THE PIG-in the wall and we can accommodate cots (free of charge) and an extra bed (at a small additional cost) in some of our rooms, subject to availability. We can also offer twin-bedded, ground floor and disabled-friendly rooms.
Unfortunately we no longer permit dogs to stay at THE PIG-in the wall, with the exception of guide dogs.
Breakfast at THE PIG-in the wall is available to everyone! With a choice of a continental menu with plenty of options to choose from or a Piggy Pan cooked breakfast with continental options included. View our menus.
Unless we are running a special deal, our bedroom rates do not include breakfast (so you always have the choice to come down and enjoy it, or sleep in and skip it!)
If you're not staying with us the night before, please make sure you book your table in advance. We can't wait to welcome you round to ours in the morning!
You can check in from 3pm at THE PIG-in the wall, however you’re more than welcome to arrive earlier to drop off your luggage and relax in the house. Check out is by 11am. We ask that you vacate your room by this time, but please feel free to enjoy the surroundings all day. We can’t guarantee an early check-in or late check-out, but do let us know your plans and we will try our best on the day.

If travelling to THE PIG-in the wall by car, we have a safe and secure car park for our guests that is £14 for overnight. There is a £5 surcharge for EV parking spots.
Breakfast: Available from 7.00am-10am Monday to Friday, and 7.00am-10.30am Saturday and Sunday. Choose from a continental menu from £13.50 or a Piggy Pan cooked breakfast with continental options included for £17.50.
All Day Dining: 12pm – 3pm and 5pm-8pm Monday to Thursday and 12pm- 8pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Drinks are served until 10.30pm.

At THE PIG-in the wall there is wheelchair access through the gravel car park as well as a ground floor room, however this may be difficult to access with wider wheelchairs. All rates shown on our website, quoted over the phone, or provided through other means are subject to availability. We reserve the right to refuse any booking for valid reasons. Our hotels offer various room types, with rates based on the number of occupants per room. Prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling, and all online payments will be processed in Pounds Sterling.
During peak seasons, bank holidays, and special events, certain rates may not be available, and some dates may require a minimum length of stay. Rates are subject to change without notice.
Our packages and pricing vary based on availability and demand. They include only the services and amenities specified in writing. Your price is guaranteed once you receive a confirmation number.
Some rate plans require full prepayment and are non-cancellable, non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-transferable. These conditions will be clearly stated in the rate description. For these plans, your credit card will be charged the full amount upon reservation. No credit will be given for unused reservations, and the payment cannot be applied to other or future reservations.

We offer monetary vouchers, as well as lunch, dinner and treatment vouchers. These can be purchased here.
Please kindly note that you are unable to redeem a gift voucher online to make a booking. Please book your room as normal and the team will refund any pre-payments with proof of your voucher. Please just contact reservations@thepighotel.com
If you are looking to book THE PIG-in the wall for a larger hire, whether it’s a wedding or any other event, we do offer an exclusive-use package from £8,000. The package is available for Monday-Thursdays between October-November and January-March, subject to availability. We have one 11kW Universal POD Point electric vehicle charger available for use at THE PIG-in the wall. It is compatible with all electric vehicles, though you will need to bring your own charging cable.
There is a £5 charge to use the electric vehicle charger, which applies to guests staying with us and guests who are not. This is on top of our parking charge for overnight stays.
Charging times vary depending on your vehicle’s battery size – for example, a 40kW battery may take around 4–5 hours to fully charge. Once your car is fully charged, we kindly ask that you move it to a regular parking space to allow others to use the charger.
Please note: we no longer have a Tesla-specific charger on site.
Restaurant: Please speak to our Restaurant Team at THE PIG-in the wall if you have any questions about the menu, allergies or dietary requirements when you arrive.
If you wish to have the option to cancel your room free of charge (up to 72 hours before arrival), we recommend booking one of our "Free Range" rates. Please email reservations@thepighotel.com if you need to amend your stay.
A late cancellation (within 72 hours of arrival or outside the defined cancellation policy of the rate booked) or a no-show (failing to arrive on the scheduled date) will result in a charge of one night's accommodation at the first night's rate of your booking. This charge will be applied to the credit or debit card provided during booking.
